Dan’s practice has been devoted almost exclusively to troubled financial transactions, especially those ending in bankruptcy. His background in this area of law began during law school with his service on the editorial staff of the Journal of Corporation Law and continued with a judicial clerkship at the Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Iowa. Since the conclusion of that clerkship, Dan has been involved in private practice in Cedar Rapids, limiting his focus to commercial matters, including foreclosures, loan workouts and bankruptcy proceedings. Dan has also served as the managing member of the firm since the fall of 2009. Dan’s undergraduate degree was in Philosophy, which he finds useful every day in the practice of law. Dan has been involved for many years in organizing and speaking at CLE events and is widely recognized for his expertise and experience in bankruptcy matters. In 2006 he was elected a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy.
